Welcome to the NY Chapter NRHS (National Railway Historical Society) link to cyberspace and your computer.
Our group is an interesting mix of diverse interests. Some of us are deeply rooted in the history of railroading while many see current events as history in the making. Our meetings have discussions about critical events that have future implications in the rail industry.

Among our membership, we have people active in national NRHS affairs and those that just come to enjoy a nice Powerpoint or slide presentation at our monthly meetings. Nationally-known industry professionals and journalists have been known to be at our meetings and give interesting perspectives on current and past events.

Our chapter's Flashes and Ashes newsletter features articles by members that focus on current events (which includes recent 'trip reports') or historical retrospectives. As a member, it is a 'must read'!

We also have group field trips that we either originate within our group or partner with other rail enthusiast organizations. Some of those activities will be posted on this site.

We meet on the first Thursday of each month (but not July and August) in the famous 'nerve center' of the New York Central Railroad, the century-old Grand Central Terminal. We assemble at the track 23 entrance promptly by 7 p.m. prior to entering our meeting room and have entertainment scheduled for those attending.
